Wow! People are reading my posts?

This feels a little strange. I mean, I want people to read my posts, of course! But I didn't really think that would happen. It's nice.

I wonder who is reading my posts and why? Do they find them interesting? Helpful? Boring?

If you've been reading, Maybe you could leave me a comment about how you found my blog, or if you relate to it.

I've got lots more ideas for posts, but to be honest I'm feeling a little panicky right now, so I need to go deal with that before writing. Maybe a walk and definitely a cigarette. I know, smoking is terrible, and smoking as a parent is even worse. I'll post about that at some point too.

Hey Maya,
My name is Gal and I've found your blog through your twitter account (you followed me). I think you're off to a good start! I sure would be interested in reading your story.
I wanted to tell you that I related to the guilt you were describing. My kids go to daycare - my son has been in daycare since he was 9 months old (he's 2.5 now), and my baby girl started two weeks ago (she's 1). I felt guilty at first too. I went back to my phd work, but I was so happy to not have to stay at home with a baby all day, that I felt that I was being a terrible mom. You know what? They both love daycare, and get so much more stimulation than I could ever give them (including, but not limited to: paint, sandboxes, water play, and other kids). And also, in the time I do spend with them, I'm always "all there" - I have more energy for them and I'm more patient. I think the bond between us got stronger after they started daycare, not weaker. This works for my family, and everyone just have to find their own way.
There are a lot of websites you might find helpful out there. If you're interested let me know and I can give you a couple to get you started. Welcome to the blogosphere! :)

Hi Gal, thanks for commenting :-) It's nice to know there are real people out there :-)

And thank you for the feed back too. It's good to know others can relate. I would love some website links- that would be really appreciated.

Thank you!

Maya, try the bloggess (http://thebloggess.com/), she's awesome and she also writes about dealing with depression and medical issues. I also like The Yummy Mummy Club (http://www.yummymummyclub.ca/) - they have a lot of variety in terms of advice and opinions. I have a blog too (http://www.galpod.wordpress.com), and I write mostly about parenting from a developmental point of view - I don't know if that's something you'd be interested in. Of course, Scary Mommy (http://www.scarymommy.com/) is the place to go for all new moms, and if you need a laugh try Wendi Aarons' blog (http://wendiaarons.com/). These are my favorites - hope it gets you started :)
